Seamless development in the different types of marketing techniques and extensive usage of automation in the same has led to higher profit and increased scope for agricultural products in rural areas. If we believe on the estimates of the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), agricultural output would need to grow globally by 70 per cent by 2050 and more precisely by almost 100 per cent in developing countries, to feed the growing population. Rural marketing is the latest evolving concept, and as any part of any economy even it has unmatched potential to grow and provide many other economic opportunities and that's why many industrialists and marketers have realized this chance recently and they are continuously looking for breakthrough in the same. In a country like India where still majority of the population is employed in agriculture and its allied activities, majority people still living in the rural areas, rural marketing has much to do on such a large scale with nearly 0.6 billion population living in rural areas. Some figures are encouraging to enter this market as because, according to census report 2003-2004 rural per capita consumption expenditure grew by 11.5% while the urban expenditure grew by 9.6%.
